On Wednesday, November 6, we will celebrate Music in the Hall's Five Year Anniversary at The Lyric Oxford.

We can't believe it either! Five years! We'll have tables and chairs set up throughout the venue, and food will be available from Proud Larry's. We'll start the show on the big screen at 6:00, and in addition to highlights from our first five years, we'll have some great content from the new additions to the Oxford music/film scene, Oxford Sounds and Oxford Sessions.

Live music will begin at 7:00 with one of my favorite newer bands in Oxford, The Red Thangs. We'll mix live music with memories and highlights on the big screen for the rest of the night.

The live performances will include Julie Lee (Nashville) who played our eighth show in 2009, Hinge Dance Company (Oxford) who performed at MITH in 2012, and to end the evening, an Oxford and personal favorite who helped us get the series started, Rocket 88.

We'll get seat reservation and food details to you later this week. The schedule for the evening will be:

5:30 doors 6:00 Highlights from MITH, Oxford Sounds, and Oxford Sessions 7:00 The Red Thangs 8:00 Julie Lee 8:40 Hinge Dance Company 9:00 Rocket 88

Tickets will be $10, but you can get a $5 discount on your ticket and ensure that we live stream the event by purchasing this limited edition shirt in the next two weeks:

If we sell 50 shirts in the next two weeks, we'll be able to do a multi-camera live stream with no ustream advertisements.

The show will be over by 10:00, and Julie Lee will be playing Snackbar at that time. Proud Larry's will also be hosting a great show featuring Apache Relay and Johnathan Rice.

Thanks so much for your part in making this series possible. Five years really has flown by. We've enjoyed it so much and hope we've provided something of value to you and the artists who have played the show. We've certainly learned at lot and hope to make the next five years even better!
